Joseph Smith

The far left wood portrait is inspired by a famous painting. I was honestly curious one day to see if I could reproduce it in wood. I sold it to the first neighbor of mine who saw it. It is approx. 2 1/2 feet tall, 2 feet wide. The coat is made from gorgeous curly black walnut. The shirt is cut from curly maple.

The center artwork is inspired by a pencil sketch drawn by Dee Jay Bawden. It is his drawing of Joseph Smith based on forensic measurements of the death mask and skull. He has given me permission to scrollsaw these using his drawing as inspiration. Approx. 1 1/2 feet tall, all maple, on background of your choice. Approx. 100 pieces.

The First Vision is quite large and dramatic. Curly maple robes make them appear to be moving as you walk around it! I recreated the Sacred Grove from actual branches, brush, and moss. I then framed it in a shadow box 6 inches deep. I can mount a light in the top to shine down on it. Approximately 300 pieces, and 2 trees (GRIN!).
