Cowboys and Indians

The Old West had many interesting personalities. The far left piece I titled "Blood Brothers," and was the first such portrait of people I ever tried. It was incorporated into the panels of an oak office desk.

Custer, of course, along with Sitting Bull are both approximately 2 feet tall and both mounted on wormy oak backgrounds which mimic bullet holes.

The Indian grabbing the eagle was an especially fun and interesting piece. I found the background log on the Palisades Dam in Idaho. It had all the wormy holes and trails they carved in the wood as they ate it. I carved out the back, then mounted the Indian and eagle. It is an almost 6 feet tall composition.

The Duke, of course, is straight class. John Wayne is 4 feet tall by 2 1/2 feet wide. I enjoy cutting the Duke as he is perhaps the most famous cowboy. Collectors! This is simply a must have piece. I also intend in the future to do the Ole Scutter, Festus, of the old Western "Gunsmoke" as well as the Outlaw Jose Wales, Jeremiah Johnson, and many of the famous cowboys and Indians in history. Portraits are always fun to do, and will electrify you with their uncanny realism.
